句式分析

I'm headed back to Rockford in the morning.The reason I'm headed back early is because we are moving to Chicago.

这句话为什么不用heading,heading不应该更合理吗?

似乎也不能理解为被动语态,那么这里是应该将headed back to Rockford 理解为形容词短语作表语吗?

be heading/headed+地点状语 = be going+地点状语

即本句型用heading或headed,意思相同。

以下为《韦氏高阶》的说明和例句:


◊ To be heading or headed somewhere is to be going or directed somewhere.

  • Where are you heading? = Where are you headed? [=where are you going?]

  • The ship was heading/headed out to sea.
