"...Will you associate me in your investigation, or will you prefer that I should act independently ? "
"I should be proud to feel that we were acting together, Mr. Holmes," said the inspector, earnestly.
1) 有associate sb in sth 结构吗?
I should be proud to feel that we will act (or we will be acting)together ?
I should be proud to feel that we acted together ?
the Free Dictionary:
5. (tr) to bring (a person, esp oneself) into friendship, partnership, etc
associte sb/sth with sb/sth,意为:把 A 与 B 作关联。
"I should be proud to feel that we were acting together, Mr. Holmes," said the inspector, earnestly.
If you would join us in our investigation, I should be proud to feel that we were acting together.
When you retire ten years later, you will be proud to feel that you were a good doctor.
