After exchanging a few words( to / with )him, she left quickly.
After exchanging a few words to him, she left quickly. Where do you think she was going?
speak to sb. (比较:speak with sb.)
talk to sb. (比较:talk with sb.)
explain sth. to sb.(不说:explain sth. with sb.)
say sth. to sb.(不说:say sth. with sb.)
但是,“俩人聊天”,我们不用 chat to sb, 要用 chat with sb.
share sth. with sb.
have something in common with sb.
exchange sth. with sb.

这句话中的介词应该用 with 即 exchange sth with sb
After exchanging a few words with him, she left quickly.
After exchanging words with him, she left quickly.
可以说 exchange sth with sb ,不能说:exchange sth to sb ,
At the end of the game , players traditionally exchange shirts with each other.
Until this evening I had never so much as exchanged a word with him.
