At that moment, I knew I had to do all I could to help her. I asked her how much all her things would cost and she told me they cost $75. I gave her $100. Before she could give me back $25, I had left with my things. It felt good ________ I tried to help her out.

it是代词作主语，指前面所做的事，because引导原因状语从句。
不过此空填that引导主语从句似乎也说得过去，it作形式主语，真正的主语可以是不定式、动名词或从句，谓语动词feel表示“给人的感觉”。例如：
It felt good to be home from the long trip. 结束漫长的旅程回到家中，感觉真爽。
It felt terrible that I failed in the exam. 我考试没及格，感觉糟透了。
