这句话的两个并列结构

第二个，the opportunity to reflect on what the experience amounts to，主要是不明白amounts to该怎么理解，查字典的意思是“接近，等于”，不知道放在这里是什么意思，也不太明白opportunity 是不是该理解为“时机、机会”，我翻译为“回想体验等于什么的机会”，感觉一点也不通顺。
