envelope 是名词（=信封），不是动词。

envelop 才是动词（注意没有字母e），意思是“覆盖；包住”。如：

mountain peaks enveloped in mist 笼罩在薄雾中的群峰

the enveloping darkness 笼罩四周的黑暗 

She was enveloped in a huge white towel. 她裹在一条白色大毛巾里。
Clouds enveloped the mountain tops. 云雾笼罩着山顶。 

That lovely, rich fragrant smell of the forest enveloped us. 森林里那种馥郁芬芳的迷人气味围绕着我们。
