remaining做后置定语疑问

To set the alarm you simply pull down the handle to the designated time remaining.The alarm will sound once the handle reaches the top and a simple tap on the LCD screen will shut it off.

不是remaining不可以做后置定语吗？只能做前置定语，remaining time？

the remaining time 和 the time remaining 都可以说，语法都不错。

这两个 reaiming 都是现在分词作定语，一个前置，一个后置。都等于说：the time that remains。

the designated time remaining，这个词组因为有了designated 修饰，特意把 remaining 后置了。词组的意思是：指定的剩余时间。
