-Oh,you ought to (have).

1.这里的have是have told him的意思吗,为什么这里用完成时态? 而不是一般时态?

2.如果碰到ought to 接一般时态,是否可以完全省掉动词,之保留ought to?

ought to do类似于 should do.

ought to have done= should have done. 本该在过去做某事（实际没有做）。

-I didn't tell him the news.我当时没有告诉他这个消息。

-Oh,you ought to (have). 你当时该告诉他的。
