比较状语从句省略

Our new school is four times as big as the old one.

想请教一下，第二个as是连词，那as后面是不是应该接完整的句子。请问as the old one 后面是省略了什么吗？

这个句子如果补充完整的话，是否可以这么说Our new school is four times as big as the old one is big?

Our new school is four times as big as the old one is big. （误）

Our new school is four times as big as the old one (is). （正）

第二个 as 是比较连词，它在其引导的从句中，替代“比较项” big。也就是说，它引导的从句，不能再出现 big，必须去掉！所以你的句子是错的。因此，as 也可称为比较代词。
