写错了句子，会导致语法错误。哪怕是一个小小的冠词，也要注意。网友漏掉了一个关键的冠词（涉及你的问题）：

There exists a certain degree of similarities between industrial clusters and species population.

表示“量概念” 的名词前用了冠词 a，例如：a cup of coffee, a number of books, a certain degree of similarities，这时，划线部分一般看作“限定语”（定语），后面的名词为“中心词”。如果不定冠词，换成特指的定冠词the，那么中心词一般随之转移至这个量词上，of ... 作定语。例如：

the cup of coffee, 

the two cups of coffee （如果作主语，要用复数。也充分说明中心词是cups）
