请从语法角度分析下面句子

柯林斯词典看到一句话：I would much rather that you asked Mrs Zuckerman any questions pertaining to herself.

另外，牛津词典上有一句话：‘Do you mind if I smoke?’ ‘Well, I'd rather you didn't'

这两个句子中主句中除了助动词would和副词rather, 似乎没有谓语动词。

虽然是习惯用法，还是希望高手从语法的角度分析下。勿喷。

would rather后接that从句时，would为及物动词，that从句必须用虚拟语气谓语。

will在早期英语中为实意动词，演变到现代英语则只是情态动词了。

形容词willing 其实就是早期实意动词will的现在分词。

词典would的释义之一：

15 old-fashioned + literary — used to say that you wish something was true, had happened, etc.
