I was really worried about doing well at my presentation this afternoon.

既然是担心，那就是“悬而未决”的事物，所以 doing well，是指主语“想做好”。有了worried 后，意思是“担心是否做得好”。转换为宾语从句，要用 whether 引导，即可理解：

I was really worried about whether I could do well at my presentation this afternoon.

1. 我真担心今天下午的报告是否能做好。

2. 我真担心今天下午的报告做得不好。

不一样的结构，可谓殊途同归。

可能网友想表达的意思是:我真担心/害怕把报告弄砸了，中西思维的不通，刘老师解释之后好像想明白了，但是以后遇到可能还会疑惑。
