英语可用 many 和 much 作表语吗？比如： 

My money is not much. 

His friends are not many. 

The time isn’t much. 

The trees are many on the hill.

    【答】many 可以作表语，但一般用于书面语，而且罕见。例如：

    The trees were many and varied in the deep valley. 那条深谷里有很多各种各样的树。（摘自《外研社英汉多功能词典》p.1285） 

     much 表示“重要的东西；有价值的东西；最贵的东西”时，可以作表语，通常用于否定句。如： 

     This fruit isn't much to look at but it's very delicious.这种水果品相不好，但是吃起来味道很不错。（摘自《外研社英汉多功能词典》p.1376）
