I was just at the wrong age.

这个表达，至少有3个错误：

（1）age 前的修饰语，只有“合适不合适”之分，没有“正确与错误”之别。可以说 the right age。这里，right 是“合适的”，不是“正确的”，它的反义词是unsuitable，不是 wrong。

（2）我们常说 at the age of，后面必须接具体的数字，以表示“在...年龄”，但是 at the wrong age 没有 of。

（3） at the age of ten 这个结构，是介词短语，在句中只能作状语，不作表语。比较：

He went to school at the age of ten. （正）

He was at the age of ten. （误）
