there is sth to do / there is sth to be done比较

there is much work to do 还是there is much work to be done?

两个说法都对，但有区别：

1. There is much work to do.

表示说话人以及在场的人去做，等于：

There is much work for me/us to do.

2. There is much work to be done.

表示与说话人没有关系的人去做，等于：

There is much work for him/them to do.

注意：There须大写。两种表达都正确，在there be结构中，to do与作主语的名词发生动宾关系时，常用主动形式表示被动。
