just the way 是连词吗

Because finally from their images, they can remove all the degrading components

and see the vivid colors of a scene just the way they would have as if that scene

was on land.

因为最后，从他们的图像中，他们可以去掉所有的褪色的成分，看到一个场景里生动的色彩，就像他们看到陆地上的场景一样。

（注：讲述了在水里拍摄的照片，由于水的存在，水会吸收光和造成失真，有一种方法叫Sea-thru, 在水里拍照以后，可以通过计算机用Sea-thru方法去掉在水里拍摄的照片中的水分...）

困惑：

1) just the way 是连词吗？

2）...they would have as if that scene was on land.中，would have 如何理解？would have后省略了什么？

（just）the way为引导方式状语从句的连词。

they would have (seen the colors）as if the scene was/were on land.

would have seen为虚拟语气。as if从句也是虚拟语气。

从句表示就好像那景色是在陆地上，实际不在陆地，从句与现在事实相反，故用was/were.

主句表示与过去事实相反，即照片洗出来后看不到鲜艳的色彩（事实是they haven't seen the vivid colors) , 与事实相反，则have done改为would have been.

just the way 正是起连词作用，相当于 just as（正如）。

would have 后面省略 seen them。

the way (that) 可以作为连词，引导方式状语从句，意思是“正如”、“按照”、“以 ...... 方式”[意义为 in the way that ...]，通常用于非正式语体或口语中。例如：
