try 不可以接复合宾语。

try and force 是口语说法，等于 try to force （设法强迫）。又如：

You can try and speak to them and tell them how their behavior affects you.

你可以设法和他们说，他们的行为是如何影响到你的。

try and speak = try to speak。

此外，更重要的是，从结构上判断：

宾补的动作是宾语发出，不是主语发出。 let them work 的逻辑主语是句子的主语。
