这里的matter为什么不用复数?感觉很奇怪？前面的criteria都是复数啊！

The internet lets people compare cities and neighbourhoods by whatever criteria matter to them, from house prices to commuting times.

matter在此是动词。就是正是由于名词是复数，才不加s.
