in the event that 可以当从属连词使用，相当于 if。
其构成是：介词短语 + 同位语从句。即：that 从句是 the event 的同位语，描述 the event 的具体内容。that 从句使用陈述语气。
event 指“情况”。in the event that 若拆分的话，就是 “在......情况下”，意味着条件。
