此处 something 是 background 的同位语，紧跟其后的 that'd never done previously 是定语从句，修饰先行词 something，that'd 根据惯用法是输入时手误吧，应该改为that I'd ，值得注意的是定语从句与同位语从句的区别，例如：
① The news that you told me yesterday was really exciting．你昨天告诉我的那个消息真的很令人激动。（定语从句）
② We heard the news that our team had won．我们听到了我们队获胜的消息。（同位语从句）
