我知道下面两个结构的区别：

can't help (to) do sth 不能帮助做某事

can't help doing sth 情不自禁做某事

但是下面这句（摘自柯林斯词典）的翻译看不懂：

I couldn’t help notice the pointed remarks slung in my direction. 我不可能注意不到那些针对我的尖锐评论。

我不知道这个句子的翻译是怎么变成“不可能注意不到”的，按字面意思应该是“不能帮助注意到”。

请专家老师指点！
