如何确定定语2 修饰名词1 还是名词2？

1. the boy under the tree in front of the house

under the tree（定语1）；in front of the house（定语2）

定语2既可修饰the boy也可修饰the tree

2. the fish in the pond in front of the house

in the pond（定语1）；in front of the house（定语2）

定语2只能修饰the pond
