1. I like the same book as you do.

2. I shall do it in the same way as you do it.

这两句，as 都是引导“比较状语从句”。

上面两句虽是一样的结构，但也有不同之处，在于：

1. 句1，the same 修饰 book，句2, the same 修饰 way。

2. as 从句的两个 do 分别对应主句的 like 和 do。句1， do 是替代词，等于like，句2， do 与主句的 do 相同，都是实意动词，所以需要宾语 it。

3. 句1的比较项是 book，所以，as 暗指the book， 句2的比较项是in the way，所以，as 暗指 in the way。

4. 由于句2比较的是 way“方式”，所以，比较从句不能缺主语和谓语，即：as you do it （一个也不能少）。

按照现代语法理论，这两句的 as 都是引导“比较状语从句”，不是“方式状语从句”，也不是“定语从句”。这是非常有道理的！因为主句含有引出比较的词项 the same。即：the same...as...
