解答这个问题，越简单越好。复杂了，反而记不住，就更不会使用了。英美人写东西，自己使用起来也犯糊涂。

1. finally 指叙述一系列事物或论点顺序的“最后”。如：

First，we'll learn the new words，then the text，finally we’ll do some exercises. 首先，我们学单词，接着学课文，最后做几个练习。

2. in the end 表示经过一番努力之后，最后取得“结果”。

比如，《西游记》中，师徒四人，经过九九八十一难，最后终成正果。用 in the end 就再好不过了。end 这个单词本身就表示“结束；结果；达到的目的”。如：

They traveled a long distance,and in the end they reached a place of safety. 长途跋涉后，他们终于到达一个安全地方。

3. at last 指时间上的“最后”，带有感情色彩。因为 last 表示时间时，指“离说话时最近的那个时间”。如：

He has finished reading the novel at last. 他终于读完了那本小说。

以上只是简单的划分，其实很多情况下可以通用，尤其在不明确时间或事物顺序的“最后”时，用这三个均可：

At last（Finally, In the end）I understood him. 最后我明白了他的意思。
