网友对不定代词用法的理解有误。

假设某人说，I ate two apples, three oranges, four spring rolls and a big hamburg. 这时你对他说，你吃的太多了。你会说：You ate too much. 还是 You ate too many. ? 答案显然是前者，too much. 可是某人吃的东西都是可数名词啊！这说明不定代词并不是指代前面说过的名词，而是表示不定量的东西。当我们不具体说某东西的时候，或者我们明确表示某东西为不可数概念时，就可以用much. many表示同一种东西的数量多（可数），或者不同种类的东西的种类多，而不是每种类别的数量多。要表示各种不同东西的总量很大，要用much, 而不是many。例如，我们常说，He said nothing. He said too much. I did so much. 等。
