finishes 还是 is finished（主动语态还是被动语态）

以下是2人对话：

A: Would you do me a favor ?

B: Ok.

A: Could you just take my clothes down and drop them in the washing machine and put some detergent in it and get it going ?

B: Ok

A: If I'm out when the wash cycle finished, woudl you please take my clothes out of the washing machine ?

B: Ok.

上述对话倒数第二行finished有误，应该是finishes 还是is finished 呢？还是二者即可？为什么？

finished应该是一个口误，实际应为finishes.现实生活中没人会斤斤计较细小的语法，对方听懂即可。

我个人觉得这个句子怪怪的，

到底是

If I'm out when the wash cycle finishes,

还是应该是

If the wash cycle finishes while I'm out,
