appreciate后面多半是接某事(sth)，如：
He appreciated your talents. 他赏识你的才能。
We much appreciate your invitation. 我们非常感激你的邀请。
We greatly appreciate your timely help. 我们非常感谢你们的及时帮助。
We appreciate your efforts for the development of the company. 我们感激你对公司发展所作的努力。
请问appreciate 后面可跟人作宾语吗？即用于appreciate sb 这样的形式。如果不能这样用，有相关的权威依据吗？非常感谢！

1. appreciate 表示感激时，其后只能接“事”作宾语，而不能接“人”作宾语；若接“人”作宾语，可考虑用动词 thank。比较：
正：We appreciate your help. 我们感谢你的帮助。
误：We appreciate you for your help.
正：He thanked her for her help. 他感谢她的帮助。
误：He thanked her help.
2. appreciate 表示除“感激”之外的意思时，可以后接人作宾语。如：
He is not a man I appreciate. 他不是一个我赞赏的人。（《张道真英语用法》）
Only after her death was I able to appreciate her. 只有到她死后我才认识到她的价值。（《牛津英语用法指南》）
