I asked her why and she told me that they were so quiet, that she was the only person talking in class and it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk to the walls!

第一个宾语从句是:that they were so quiet

第二个宾语从句是:that she was the only person talking in class

第三个宾语从句是:it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk to the walls

按照这位网友的理解,句中的 that they were so quiet, that she was the only person talking in class, it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk to the walls 为三个并列的宾语从句(即用作动词 told 的宾语),即她告诉了我三个内容:一是说他们(应该是指学生)很安静;二是说课堂上只有她一个人在说话,三是说给人的感觉像是他们在罚她对着墙壁说话。

I asked her why and she told me that they were so quiet, that she was the only person talking in class and that it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk to the walls!

BILL (on Saturday evening):I don’t like this party. I want to go home now.

PETER (on Sunday morning):Bill said that he didn’t like the party, and he wanted to go home right away.

I don’t like this party 和 I want to go home now,但变为间接引语后,用 and 连接的两个宾语从句,只在第一个宾语从句前用了引导词 that,第二宾语从句前的引导词 that 则被省略。

2. 个人认为前面没有that的“it feltlike …”那个分句未必需要分析成told的另一个宾语从句,其实分析成与“she was the only person talking in class”并列的句子更合适。

she told me that she was really let down byher students. I asked her why and she told me that they were so quiet (,) that she was the only person talking inclass and it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk tothe walls!

请问张老师,that they were so quiet 和 that she was the only person talking in class 这两个宾语从句为什么不用 and 连接呢?

我也有一个问题要请教一下老师:如果把 it felt like the children were punishing her by making her talk to the walls 看作是前面句子的并列成分,那就说明 told 后面只带了两个宾语从句,即 that they were so quiet 和 that she was the only person talking in class,那这两个宾语从句就应该有连词 that 来连接吧,对不对?
