insist 也有类似用法，当它强调认定一个事实时，其宾语从句也不用虚拟语气；当强调一个主张时，才用虚拟语气。例如：
▲The thief insisted that he had not stolen anything from the supermarket, but the manager insisted that he (should) be sent to the police station. 小偷坚持说他没有从超市偷任何东西，但超市经理却坚决主张把他送到警察局。
（第一个 insisted 是“坚持说”，第二个 insisted 是“坚决主张”）
▲suggest 之后跟 that 宾语从句时，若用了虚拟语气：should+原形，则可以省略should。此外，suggest 之后也可直接跟doing。

“suggest+doing”和“suggust+that+主语+should+动词原形”的翻译是一样的，都是“建议”，但前者不是虚拟语气，后者是虚拟语气。
