▲我认为要表达以上译文的意思最常见的是使用 for, 而不能用 of 与 solving the problem 搭配。不是因为要强调什么，而是 for doing sth 结构一个基本的意义就是表达【物的用途/目的】：
The money is for buying some food fordinner.
The dish is for eating, not for looking at.
这种结构有时作定语时依然如此：
It's a machine for making boxes.
This is a film only for making money.
如果我把你的问题稍加改动就会发现它与以上的例句是多么相似：
These are my ideas for solving the problem.
其实我们现行人教版9年级英语教材第13单元p98就有典型的例句：
Jason and Susan, what are your ideas for solving these problems？
类似例句在网上太多了。
▲那么 of 可以与 idea 搭配吗？没问题。只不过我们一定要小心 idea 与 of 后面词的关系。
the shocking idea of eating a frog alive 令人震惊的活吃青蛙的想法 （the idea 与 eating the frog alive 为同位关系）
That is a great idea of yours. 你的主意真棒。（看出来了吧，双重属格结构，当然，前后应该为所属关系）
That isn’t my idea of happiness. 那不是我想象中的幸福（不是我对于幸福所持的想法/观念）。（这里 of 表达一种涉及/针对关系，此时意义等同 about/on）
如果你仔细把这三种关系带入到你的句子中，就会发现，如果用 of 可以的话，似乎只有其表达针对/涉及关系时才合适：
What are your ideas of solving the problem? 对于解决这个问题的（途径），你们持什么看法？
