enough在句中的位置

有本书上说：副词 enough 修饰形容词、副词或动词时，永远置于其后。有这么绝对吗？我是说“永远”这个词是不是用得不够妥。

I wonder if it’s large enough. 我不知道它是否够大。

You’re not driving fast enough. 你开车开得不够快。

You don’t relax enough. 你休息不足。

修饰形容词时要后置，即使被修饰的形容词后面修饰有名词也是如此。如：

We haven’t got a big enough house. 我们的房子不够大。

也可以说：We haven’t got big enough a house.

He was a handsome enough child. 他是一个非常帅气的孩子。

也可以说：He was handsome enough a child.

但是，如果enough修饰整个名词词组，则置于形容词之前，这个另当别论。比较：

We haven’t got big enough nails. 我们没有够大的钉子。

We haven’t got enough big nails. 我们没有足够多的大钉子。

▲补充一下：

在enough big nails中，enough是形容词，不是修饰big的，而是修饰big nails。

此外，在非正式英语或口语中，可能出现The room is enough large. 或者This is an enough large room.的句子，但都不可取，至少目前英语语法不允许。也许过了多少年以后，这种用法可能流行？
