为什么within a stone's throw of a railway station用of

One day he saw an advertisement for a suitable house in Hampshire
which was claimed to be within a stone's throw of a railway station
from which there were frequent trains to London.

为什么within a stone's throw of a railway station中使用了of?

词典上within a stone's throw of 50 meters, 这可以理解。 应该用within a stone's throw to a railway station吗?

He lives a stone's throw from the post-office.

He lives within a stone's throw of the post-office.

He lives not a stone's throw from the post-office.

He lives within not a stone's throw of the post-office.

(2)a stone's throw

(4)a stone's throw 里的's 偶尔被省去。

(5)It is not exactly a stone's throw from here

顺便问一下,网友说“词典上within a stone's throw of 50 meters”,

请问网友,within a stone's throw of 50 meters在哪个词典什么词条出现的?

within a stone's throw of 50 meters 这里of表示同位关系:a stone's throw = 50 meters

within a stone's throw of a railway station 这里of=from  此of非彼of。
