The cave might never have been discovered had not the entrance been spotted by the distinguished French potholer, Berger.  (NCE 3, L.42)

...had the entrance not been spotted by the distinguished French potholer, Berger.  ???

然而,had not the entrance been spotted这样的结构,还真是存在,可以说是一个古董级的存在。
