many more people“更多的人”的more是形容词many的比较级，常位于表示数量的词（one [two, three, four…] , a few, several, some, many, much...）之后一起修饰名词。正如曹老师所说，“many more people = 多很多人。many 替代的是数词”。《韦氏高阶英汉双解词典》将这样用的more划归为形容词。

The company hired a few more employees. 公司又多雇了几名员工。

▲请注意以下两点：

1. many more修饰复数名词，若不接名词，more为代词指代复数名词。例如：

I hope to have many more years with you. 我希望还可以和你们一起度过更多的岁月。

Some students are against the plan, but many more support it. 一些同学反对这个计划，但是更多的同学支持它。

2. much more修饰不可数名词，若不接名词，more为代词指代不可数名词。例如：

He earned much more money than his brother. 他挣的钱比他兄弟多多了。

I have much more to do. 我有很多事要做。
