percentage“百分比；百分率；百分数；比例（proportion）”是名词，percentage 前不能加数字，不能说five percentage，而要说five percent或a percentage of five。

1. percentage是模糊及不确定性的约略或概算，含有“……部分”的意思，其后常接of短语作定语。例如：

Whisky contains a large percentage of alcohol. 威士忌所含酒精的百分比很高。

2. The percentage of 后可接可数或不可数名词，但percentage是中心词，所以作主语时谓语动词通常用单数。例如：

The percentage of endangered species has actually fallen since 2000. 自从2000年来，濒危品种的比例有所下降。
