— used with her, his, their, its, your, and our to describe someone or something that is moving forward, going somewhere, etc.

• Paramedics pushed their way through the crowd.

• The snail slowly inched its way toward the water.

• The river winds/snakes its way through the valley.

• He tried to buy his way into the prestigious college. [=he tried to use money to get himself accepted as a student at the college]

• She managed to talk her way past the guard. [=she was able to convince the guard to let her pass]

动词+物主代词+way, 表示主语以动词表示的那种方式向前移动后去往某处。语法上one‘s way 是动词的宾语。语义上谓语动词是移动、通过一段路程的方式。

In an hour or two the whole army was joyously tramping and singing its way across the River.

整个部队用了一两个小时，意气风发地迈着大步、唱着歌曲趟过了这条河。
