指人用 it 还是 he / she 的区别

--Is this your father?

--Yes, _______ is.

A. it B. he C. this

C肯定错，不能用指示代词，但是选A还是B呢？

答语应该用he，不用this 或it：

--Is this your father?

--Yes, he is.

【说明】在不知某人性别时，it 比较通用。例如：Someone is knocking at the door. Who can it be?

但是，当语境已经告诉你某人的性别时，第三人称用he 或she，不能再用it。例如：

Is this your father ? Yes , he is .

这是你爸爸吗？是的，他是的。

Is this your father? Yes, he is. He's a doctor. What's your mother? She's a teacher.

这是你的爸爸吗？是的，他是一名医生。你妈妈是干什么的？她是一名教师。

【答】在回答 --Is this/that ...? 时，不管this/that是否指人，通常用 it 作主语。在人教版小学和初中英语教科书中都可以找到例句。

又如，下面的例句摘自《牛津英语用法指南》第三版428.9节：Is that our waiter? ---No,it isn't. 那是我们的服务员吗？--- 不，不是。（不能说：No, he isn't.）
