as用法的一些困惑（如何判断as前后的肯定和否定所表达的含义）
问题是这样的：由题得到一些关于as的困惑，如何判断as前后的肯定和否定所表达的含义？as是作为连词有指代意义的？as作为连词指代前面的宾语从句时关注的是从句的肯定形式而不是否定意义（在有关否定前移时例句345）？

这个句子中，as从句用否定结构为错误。应改为:分号后接 nor/neither does the mother.
其实，as引导比较分句，表示主句说的情况和从句说的情况一样。所以主从句如果都是肯定句，则理解没有问题。如果主句为否定句，则否定范围涵盖从句，即not否定的是这句+从句。例如：
Spiders are not insects, as many people think.
not否定的是 spiders are insects as many prople think. not对“蜘蛛像许多人认为的那样是昆虫”这个陈述予以否定，即这个陈述是不正确的。蜘蛛并非像许多人认为的那样是昆虫。逻辑是，许多人认为蜘蛛是昆虫，这是不正确的，蜘蛛不是昆虫。
所以，as从句通常要用肯定结构，不用否定结构。

《新概念》中有这句，我学英语时，就开始接触到对此句不少的叽叽歪歪。
Spiders are not insects, as many people think, nor even nearly related to them.
对于as many people think / as many people know.
不必想多了，01. 简单看做是插入语；02. 记住下面两句就基本OK了：
1. He is a student, you know,… (他是个学生，这点你知道的，…. )
2. He is not a student, as you may think,… (他不是个学生，尽管你可能会认为他是，. )
句子2有没有"是" 或"不是" 两种意思？可能会有这两者情况，
但是, 但是, 但是,
英语的意思主要是由 “本句”决定的（如反义疑问句那样），
as many people think 这个局部可没有否定词，不是么？担心个啥？
