并列句主谓一致问题

nor后的句子应该是省略了主语she吧， those empty-hearted应该指的是那些负心的人，nor were (she) those empty-hearted...

可如果主语是前面的she，为什么谓语动词用were而不是was，还是说省略了以后为了符合后面的those empty-hearted?

nor were those empty-hearted...

这是nor 引导的倒装句，系动词were 提到主语之前。主语是those（指人），所以用were。去掉nor 后：

those were empty-hearted （主、系、表）
