怎么区别as引导的定语从句和状语从句

比如：The EU stopped the plane from flying, as did many countries.

The EU stopped the plane from flying, as did many countries.

这是as引导的比较分句。as替代的是谓语部分（stopped the plane from flying).

如果逗号改为分号，或逗号后加and, 则用so.

The EU stopped the plane from flying, and so did many countries.

传统语法认为as可以引导非限制性定语从句，先行词是主句内容。（这种分析是不恰当的）。本句中as替换的并不是整个主句内容，而只是主句的谓语部分。所以这并不是传统语法中的所谓as引导的非限制性定语从句。而应该按照比较分句来分析。

再看下句：
