more than 用法疑问
1//He is happier than ever.
2//The situation is more crucial than ever.
请问老师：第一个句子很好补充:than ever he was，那么第二个句子完整形式应该是than ever it was 呢还是than ever it was crucial呢？我更倾向于第一种，因为我觉得more +adj只不过是adj+er 的另一种形式，他们应该整体看做表语，而不是只把副词more提出来。这样理解对吗？

1. He is happier than ever.
2. The situation is more crucial than ever.
ever 的意思相当于before，指“以前的任何时候”，由于参与比较，所以，ever 要重读。补充完整后，它的位置应该在be 之前，而不是之后，但不能在主语之前。注意ever 的位置：
1. He is happier than he ever was.
2. The situation is more crucial than it ever was.
【注意】than 后面决不能再出现“比较对应项”，即主句中的happy和crucial 必须去掉，原级也不行。不能说：than it was crucial.
