虽然 these days和at present 都表示“现在”，但它们在意思上有区别。

1. these days 用于指现在，含有与过去进行比较的意味（=used to talk about the present time, in comparison with the past），根据情况可译成“最近”“如今”“这些天来”“近来”等。请注意体会：

I am reluctant to work these days. 我最近懒得工作。

Houses are far more expensive these days. 如今的房价贵多了。

He is in low spirits these days. 他这几天情绪很低落。

There isn’t much call for such things these days. 这种东西近来需求量不大。

We only have dinner parties very occasionally these days. 近来我们不经常有宴会。

2. at present 表示“现在”，不仅指近阶段以来的“现在”“目前”，也可指“眼下”，是一种比较正式的用语。请注意体会：

He doesn’t want to get married at present. 他现在还不想结婚。

He is away on holiday at present. 他现在正在休假，不在这里。

AllBritain’s motorways are free at present. 英国的所有高速公路现在都是免费的。
