▲表示“花多少时间”，spend 后面通常是接“一段时间”的宾语，比如：

They spent four hours queueing up for tickets. 他们花了四个小时排队买票。

He spends all his time gambling in the casino. 他把时间都消磨在赌场的赌博上。

We spent many idle hours just sitting in the sun. 我们在太阳地里呆呆坐了好几个钟头。

I’ve spent three hours working at this problem. 我为解决这个问题已经花了3 个小时。

▲spend 后面也可以接专有名词的时间宾语，此时的 spend 不一定翻译成“花费”，可根据情况翻译成“度过”“利用”等（也可具体语境来翻译）。如：
