for+动名词作状语——多数表原因,少数表目的吗

I learn English for making money.

I stop making excuse for being lazy.

老师,这两句话有逻辑错误吗?

网友的两个句子都有点问题。

1. I learn English for making money.

—— for doing sth.  一般作定语,修饰前面的名词。

所以,本句是目的状语,改用不定式:

I learn English to make money.

2. I  stop making excuse for being lazy.

—— excuse 是可数名词。要么加冠词,要么用复数。

I will stop making an excuse for being lazy.

I will stop making excuses for being lazy.
