granted that的用法

请问granted that在写句子时有什么需要注意的,应该怎么用,后面要是再加but有什么含义?

granted (that)为复合从属连词,引导条件或让步状语从句,意为“假定”、“就算”。


  1. Granted (that) the story's true, what are you going to do about it?
    假如事情是真的,你打算怎么办?

  2. Granted that Tom has enough money to buy the car, it doesn't mean he's going to do so.
    即使汤姆买得起这辆汽车,也并不意味着他会这么做。

granted单独使用,后面用逗号,则为副词,意为“的确”、“确实”。

Granted, it's not the most pleasant of jobs but it has to be done.

的确,这并不是最令人愉快的工作,但却是必须做的。

(1)take it for granted that 理所当然地认为(it为形式宾语,that从句为真正宾语)

He seemed to take it for granted that he should speak as a representative. 他似乎想当然地认为他应该以代表的身份发言。

(2)take sb/sth for granted 认为…是理所当然的

I was amazed that virtually all the things I took for granted up north just didn't happen in London.  

几乎所有我认为在北方是理所当然的事情在伦敦都没有发生,这让我惊诧不已。

(3)take sb for granted(因视作理所当然而)不把…当回事,对…不予重视(或不知感激)

What right has the family to take me for granted, Martin?

这家人有什么资格瞧不起我,马丁?

The officials felt taken for granted and grumbled loudly.

(4)sb grant that 承认

The magistrates granted that the charity was justified in bringing the action.
