in case还是in case of sth?

老师，词典没有in case的用法,这个如何理解？

1. in case of + 名词：

Take an umbrella with you in case of rain. 带上雨伞，以防下雨。

2. in case + (that 从句)：

Take your raincoat in case (that) it should rain. 带上你的雨衣，以防下雨。

网友的句子就是in case 接从句，that 可以省略。

【特别注意】

in case 在英国英语中表示目的，在美国英语中可表示条件，意为“如果，万一”。试比较：

In case the house burns down, we'll get the insurance money.

万一房子烧毁了，我们会得到保险金。

Take a hat with you in case the sun is very hot.带上帽子吧，以防太阳很晒呢。

你怎么能说词典没有in case? 所有的词典都有的。只不过有的是以单独词条列出，有的是在case的词条下，以idiom的形式列出。你重新查词典。

in case是一个很常用和常见的连词，你不知道是不应该的。你英语学到现在的程度，应该能够辨认所有引导从句的关联词了。你应该马上翻开一本语法书，把所有的从句的引导词都看一遍，你一定能够看到in case。尤其是目的状语从句。

Take an umbrela with you in case it rains. 带把伞以防下雨。
