due to做状语

Their delay was due to the bad weather They delayed due to the bad weather。

Their delay was due to the bad weather.

They delayed due to the bad weather.

close to  靠近

out of  从...中出来

north of  在...

according to  根据

because of  因为

owing to  因为

due to  因为

due to 和 owing to 的意思都与 because of(由于)差不多。due to 比 owing to 更常用。

Due / Owing to the bad weather (,) the match was cancelled.

We have had to postpone the meeting (,) due / owing to the strike.

His success was due to his mother. (不能说:... was owing to his mother.)
