对于定语从句中，where和from where的区分我现在能完全理解并搞清楚，我的问题是有时候在使用from where的地方，我不能理解为什么不能使用from which?

解答如下：

from where和from which有着本质上的不同

(1)from where相当于一个介词from+介词短语=and from +there

Soon after getting off his horse,the captain appeared at the second storey windows,from where he could see nothing but trees.

下马不久,上尉就出现在二楼的窗口了.他从那里除了树木什么也没看到.
She climbed up to the top of the hill,from where she could have a good view of the whole town.

她登上山顶,从那里她可以一览全城风光.

He hid himself under the bed, from where he could hear what they were talking. 他躲在床下面，他可以从床下听到他们谈话。

(from where=from under the bed)

He hid himself in a tree, from where he could see the enemy in the distance. 他躲在一棵树上，从那儿他可以看到远处的敌人。

We went up to the roof, from where we had a good view of the procession. 我们爬上屋顶，从那儿可以很好地观看游行。

(2)from which相当于一个介词from+名词构成介词短语

The floods were a cataclysm from which the local people never recovered. 

经历了这场特大洪水,当地人民元气大伤,很难恢复.

Most farms have a pond from which cattle can drink.  

大多数农场都有水槽让牛群饮水.

from where总结有以下两个用法：

(1)用于引导非限制性定语从句，在意义上相当于 and from there（从那儿）。

He hid himself in a tree, from where he could see the enemy in the distance. 

他躲在一棵树上，从那儿他可以看到远处的敌人。

We went up to the roof, from where we had a good view of the procession. 

我们爬上屋顶，从那儿可以很好地观看游行。

(2)可视为where前省略了the place，即这样用的from where 相当于from the place where，意思是“从……的地方”“离……的地方”。

From where I stood I could see everything clearly.

从我站的地方我一切都看得清清楚楚。

The car stopped short only a few inches from where I stood.

汽车在离我站的地方仅几英寸处突然停住。

The school was only a few blocks from where she lived.

a)网上看到老师们说：认为这道题填 where 和 from where 语法上都可以（但不宜填 from    which），但两者在意义上稍有区别。

  但我个人认为从实际情况或逻辑来说，似乎不能填where，因为如果填写where，则理解为    在house的处（一般应该理解为房子和房子很近的外墙四周，例如范围最多到四周的院处  

  为界）可以欣赏杨浦大桥的美景，

  给人感觉似乎房子和杨浦大桥之间距离无限接近或地理位置重合，而这显然不可能，不符合 实际情况或逻辑。不知道我的理解对否？

b)为什么不宜填from which？ 具体理由呢？是不是如果填写from which，则限定在house  

   处（不能超过house范围），而实际填写from where，则可以理解为离house以及附近稍     远处的四周呢？

   不知道我的理解对否？

答案A. from where.

网上看到老师说：改成from which能够讲得通，但不大符合英语习惯。对此，我不能理解，我个人认为可以from which，which指代China, 可以吗？

from where指代在China这个范围之内或左右，from which指代China，是把China看着一个整体，可以这样理解吗？对吗？

用from which具体中文句意是什么，如何理解？如果不可以，具体理由呢？

a) 网上看到老师说：不能使用where, 只能使用from where.

    因为 where 可指为“在床边”“在床上”“在床下”等，意思比较模糊。

    我的理解是，按照句意，既然他躲在床下了，按照逻辑，就不可能再指为“在床边”“在 

    床上”，而只能指“在床下“，如此，在这个特定上下文背景的句子中，我个人认为可以     where，我的理解对吗？

b) 另外，可否from which呢 ? 如不可以，理由呢？

Alice stood in front of the window, from where she could watch here classmates playing football.

a) 我的问题是可否from which? 如果可以，which可否具体指代the window？用from           which具体中文句意是什么，如何理解？

  如果不可以，具体理由呢？ 

b) 如果用where, 是不是意味着她的同学们就在她身边（紧靠着Alice），虽合乎语法，但不 

   符合实际情况和逻辑呢？不知道我的理解对吗？
