I can't believe the news that my father is involved in the crime.

be involved in 卷入的;参与的;与…有密切关联的(be可以是am,is,are,was,were)

The military on both sides are involved in intense activity.

She was involved in social and relief work among the refugees.

We hadn't appreciated how much work was involved in organizing a wedding.

be involved in 包含的;涉及的

He cannot reveal how much money is involved in the scheme.

He is romantically involved with a married woman.

类似的用法如:He is ill.

Now Mr Smith is ill.

Soon Mr Smith fell ill.

I can't believe the news that my father is involved in the crime.

I can't believe the news that my father got involved in the crime.
