这题答案选择A，不明白这类时态的确定就是靠翻译吗？我觉得D也可以，但是我觉得第一个空用过去式expected，也是表示原本希望，不知道老师有没有其他看法？

had planned/intended/meant/wanted/hoped to do something

= planned/intended/meant/wanted/hoped to have done something

表示未能实现的过去的计划、打算、意图、希望等。

由第二个空后面的but I have been too busy, 可知这里表示的是未能实现的过去的打算，故可以排除C、D。并由此可知别人的expect是过去的，而不是现在的，进而排除现在进行时B。所以A是唯一可选项。A项的had expected过去完成时参照的是你未能如期修理电视的那个过去时间。
